We reconcile students to Christ, equipping them through Spirit-Filled communities of prayer, worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission to transform the university, the marketplace, and the world. This clarion call has served as the marching orders for Chi Alpha since 1993. Taking our mission statement seriously, we had to ask how we could aid this transformation by reconciling students to Christ.

The nearly 22,000 Chi Alpha students represents a potential formidable global missionary force. To change this missionary force from potential to kinetic, Chi Alpha has put forth the challenge in the form of our student missions motto, “Every student goes. Every student gives. Every student prays. Every student welcomes.” Our desire is that it becomes embedded in the hearts and minds of every Chi Alphan for a lifetime.

Every student goes: We challenge Chi Alpha students to serve cross-culturally on a mission trip at least once during college. If every student did this, more than five thousand Chi Alphans would serve missionaries in short-term missions each year. We also challenge students to give a year and pray about a lifetime in missions. Students who study abroad may do so strategically through Assemblies of God World Missions partnerships and students are encouraged to devote a year to missions post-graduation.

Every student gives: We teach every student to give sacrificially and deliberately to extend the Kingdom of God around the globe. They are challenged to give to Assembles of God World Missions and U.S. Missions causes and missionaries. Another avenue students may give through is feedONE, a Convoy of Hope initiative and Chi Alpha’s compassion arm. Only $10 a month feeds a child in need.

Every student prays: We teach every student to pray deliberately and consistently for the nations of the world. Our 10.2 campaign is a great way to join a growing group of pray-ers who have a heart to see an increase in disciple-makers who go, give, pray, and welcome. Simply text “xapray” to 313131 and set a daily reminder on your phone to pray for laborers at 10:02.

Every student welcomes: Over one million international students are studying on our campuses here in the United States. We teach every American student to engage them with the gospel of Jesus through our XAi, or Chi Alpha internationals, ministry on the local campus. We want these students to have a worldwide impact when they return to their home countries eager to share the gospel.

We disciple every student to go, give, pray, and welcome because it is the mandate of Jesus. This mandate is the mission of Chi Alpha.
